Minister of Education in the Western Cape, Debbie Schäfer, has taken to Twitter to condemn the recent pre-election service delivery protests.
Along with the usual roadblocks, destroyed property and looting, the minister shared that the protests have also disrupted education, with 21 Western Cape schools forced to close due to violence.

News24 reports that since the start of the week, protests have taken place in Alexandra and Pretoria in Gauteng; Somerset West and Khayelitsha in the Western Cape; and Kroonstad in the Free State.
