Rapper Priddy Ugly shares his creative process behind his album trilogy (Nqanawe Shangase/News24)

In 2022, rapper Priddy Ugly received arguably the most hotly contested award in the hip-hop fraternity: the Lyricist of the Year award. This nod gave him a pat on the back that all the work he had been putting into his music was being recognised. At the time, he was up against Zulu Mecca, Tyson Sybateli, and PDotO. 

In the past three years, he has released three albums, a trilogy that maps out the rapper's life from 2021 to 2023.

He has undoubtedly let his fans in on his life and the different phases each year has taken him on, mapping what could become his last mass project offering.
