Friday's weather: Fire risk for some regions in the Northern Cape as temperatures set to soar

Soaring temperatures could lead to extremely high fire danger conditions over the northern and central parts of the Northern Cape, according to the South African Weather Service.

The weather in your region

Fine and cool to warm temperatures are forecast for Gauteng.

The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.

Mpumalanga can expect fine and cool to warm conditions, but hot temperatures in the Lowveld.

Fine and warm to hot temperatures are forecast for Limpopo.

The North West and the Free State will have morning fog patches, otherwise fine and warm.

Morning and evening fog patches are expected along the coast of the Northern Cape, where it will be partly cloudy, otherwise fine and warm to hot.

The wind along the coast will be a light southerly to south-easterly.

The Western Cape will have morning and evening fog patches along the coast, where it will be partly cloudy and cool, otherwise, fine and hot to very hot conditions are expected.

The wind along the coast will be a light to moderate southerly to south-easterly, reaching fresh to strong at times, but light and variable along the south coast.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

Morning and evening fog patches are expected in the western half of the Eastern Cape, along the coast and adjacent interior, where it will be partly cloudy and cool.

It will be fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be light and variable, becoming a moderate easterly in the afternoon.

The eastern half of the province will have morning and evening fog patches along the coast, where it will be partly cloudy and cool, otherwise fine and warm.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate south-westerly, becoming a moderate north-easterly by evening.

KwaZulu-Natal will be partly cloudy in the south at times, otherwise fine and cool to warm temperatures are expected.

The wind along the coast will be a light to moderate south-westerly south of Cape St Lucia at first, becoming southerly to south-easterly until the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.
