Sienna Whines, one of three top performing pupils at Parktown High School for Girls, "stressed cleaned" her bedroom as she stayed up through the night waiting for her matric results.
To her surprise, she received an SMS at midnight informing her that she had bagged eight distinctions in English, Maths, Afrikaans, Life Orientation, Visual Arts, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and Further Studies Maths.
Whines, who now has her sights set on pursuing an undergraduate Microbiology degree at University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, said she was nervous about her results despite working hard throughout the year.
