Willem Breytenbach (Jaco Marais, Gallo Images, Die Burger)

Former Media24 executive and teacher William Breytenbach's case of multiple sexual assault charges drags on, with yet another postponement on Friday.

The case, which emanates from podcaster Deon Wiggett's "My Only Story", has barely made any progress in public after Breytenbach's dramatic arrest in December 2019 at his mother's house in Reebok near Mossel Bay.

However, News24 understands that sentencing proposals are still being thrashed out behind the scenes to avoid a trial.
