Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has maintained that all matric pupils, whether at public or private schools, should write the same examination to determine the best in the country.
Speaking at the celebrations of the province’s top performers at Microsoft in Bryanston on Friday, Lesufi said all children should be treated "equally and fairly".
"We can't have a situation where other children are perceived to be writing a poor-quality exam and others are seen to be writing quality examinations," he said,
