When Deon Safers saw news on Facebook about the collapse of the five-storey development in George, Western Cape, he thought his son would never survive.

Safer's son, Delvin, who spoke to News24 from beneath the rubble, unable to feel his legs pinned beneath concrete, spent 25 hours trapped under the collapsed building.
