Wanderlust! Baby names inspired by places

Would you name your baby after a city or country?
Would you name your baby after a city or country?

Inspiration for baby names varies from parent to parent, with some choosing musical inspiration, names from the past, and even nature

A trend that seems to be popular with celebs is naming a child after a place, whether country, city or town.

Victoria and David Beckham are probably the most famous parents to have taken this route, naming their first child, Brooklyn, after the American city. But in their case, it was especially apt since Brooklyn is the place their son was conceived.

Ron Howard is another example, but the director took things a step further, giving each of his children a middle name that spoke to exactly where they were conceived, literally.

Daughters Bryce Dallas Howard, Jocelyn Carlyle and Paige Carlyle are named after a city and hotel, respectively, while son Reed Cross was named after the street the family's home was on when he was conceived.

No word on whether local celeb tot Kairo's name was inspired by where she was conceived, but it's definitely a one-of-a-kind name.

Whether you're bold enough to name your child after the place they were conceived, or just looking for a unique-sounding name, here are 19 of our favourite baby names inspired by places.
