Her sagging brows made her look tired and sleepy, even when she wasn’t, she claims. British influencer Nasrin Corfield Smith travelled to Türkiye for plastic surgery to refresh her face – but social media users think the results are catastrophic.
Nasrin (37) had cat-eye surgery to give her feline-like features. She also had a cheek lift, eye lift and brow lift.
“I had a lot of loose skin above my eye and my brows were quite heavy. The area below my eyes needed to be tightened – now you can see it’s nice and lifted, and tight,” she says.
The medical term for cat-eye surgery is a canthoplasty and the procedure reshapes and repositions the upper outer corner of the eye, giving it a cat-eye shape.
The cat-eye surgery, along with her cheek and brow lift, were all done at once.
“They're performed together because they're associated parts of the face. This [canthoplasty] surgery is used to lift the corners of the eyes. We do a cheek lift to lift the middle of the face and cheeks,” her surgeon, Dr Hakan Ozocak, explains in a TikTok video.
“We perform these surgeries because of the sagging of brows and eyes from an early age. Those two things make people look tired and sleepy even if they're not.”

It took Nasrin seven weeks to recover from the surgery, and she shared updates of her healing on her social media accounts.
“I was in so much pain. I felt so ill, and everyone was saying I looked botched,” she says.
But she isn’t letting the cyberbullying get to her.
“I’ve been to therapy, and I’ve done a lot of work on myself. I’m advocating for people doing what makes them happy in life."

Nasrin owns Aesthetic Clinic in London, which specialises in cosmetic procedures, and she’s always been open about her fondness for a nip and tuck, despite some hair-raising moments.
She became addicted to lip fillers when she was 18 years old and she’s also had butt filler to overcome insecurities she had about her appearance.
Last year, against the advice of 10 surgeons, she had bum implants inserted but the botched surgery left her in agony.
“It was a really bad experience. I wasn’t given proper aftercare and the recovery was horrific. It’s the worst surgery I’ve ever had,” she recalls.
“The wound was a gaping hole and oozing fluid. I had to fly back to have it removed.”

The fact that the surgeon agreed to do the surgery when 10 others had declined “should have been a red flag,” she says, but she was determined to get a plumper behind.
Despite her bad experiences, Nasrin continues to seek perfection through plastic surgery.
“Each person has a set of standards they hold for what they think beauty and being natural is,” she says.
“That’s their perception and it has nothing to do with you. Everyone doesn’t have to agree with your choices – as long as you do what makes you happy.”
