One of the things parents look forward to when they have their second child is getting their eldest kid to help out with the baby.
You''ll get the advice that you should try to involve your eldest child so that they feel included with the new addition but to be honest, they don't really want to help.
"Please fetch the wipes for me"
"No!"
"Please, they're right there on the table"
"Here?" (Not the table)
"No, the table."
"You want this book?"
"No. The wipes please."
*spots something else and buggers off to play with his Lego*
This is an actual conversation that happens on the regular at our house. Sometimes my son is only too happy to be "a very good helper" as he says but really it's a hit and miss situation most days.
Vlogger, La Guardia Cross documents what it's like trying to get a uncooperative toddler to help out with the fussy baby and the results are well, just watch to find out:
