Advertorial
For some parents, bath time can be an unmitigated disaster, World War 3 would probably be easier to survive than having to bath their baby.
Some days my son just refuses a bath but we often play games with "toys" we have lying around. A firm favourite of his is pouring water and we use empty Johnson's bottles of various sizes (from sample sized shampoo bottles to larger size aqueous cream tubs) that we keep for this purpose.
Advice from other parents
We thought we'd ask our seasoned parents how they have made bath time fun and easy with their little ones and here's what they had to say:
Lots and lots of TOYS. - Elmarie Nortje
Make jokes while with them in bath like "the whale"(putting water in your mouth and spitting out like a fountain). Tell them what animals you can get in the ocean, rivers etc. not just fun but sometimes educational. I love bath time with my son. - Theunisia Brill
Bubble bath - Chantal Olivier
We sing, dance and play - Unathi Ngcobo
Get in with them! - Noha Schroeder-Gamildien
Rubber ducks and lots and lots of foam. She kicks her chubby little legs and is surprised at the sensation. Bath time is so much fun if we're all relaxed. - Sharon Matsepe
My 7-month-old boy laughs when I pop the bubbles that I make with the top-to-toe wash. - Cresantha Ramsay
While she is in the bath I talk to her about what I am doing as I go along. - Lauren Potter
Glow sticks are awesome and great for sensory play that and bubble bath and a few toys and you got bath time all wrapped up in a bubble of fun. - Claire Crookes
