Learning how to swim is an important skill for every child to master and the younger they can do so, the better.

New York and Los Angeles-based photographer, Seth Casteel, has often captured amazing underwater images and has a popular series of dogs and puppies swimming. Now he has taken on a new venture and is photographing young babies as they learn to swim.

Casteel photographed more than 750 babies and took more than 10,000 photos to perfectly capture these adorable little ones as they learn to swim. In an attempt to raise awareness about drowning (which is one of the leading causes of death in children between the ages of 1 and 4 years old), Casteel has a released a book of his photographs.

While parents may be scared of letting their young children near water, babies are natural swimmers before they learn to walk. They instinctively hold their breath and kick their feet and can easily be taught to turn and float on their backs.
