"Every time we changed her diaper, we would have to hold her legs down."

We hear about them but we're hardly privy to seeing what a newborn looks like after a breech birth, so we're lucky one US-based mom, Kristen DiCicco Rogers, decided to post this unique image of her breech baby girl right after her C-section birth.

These babies are positioned with their feet toward the birth canal, as opposed to head-first as is the case with the majority of births - see more about breech babies here

"This was my poor little breech baby! She came out folded in half!!" Kristen wrote when she added the picture to the BabyCenter Facebook page

The parenting page got in touch with Kristen for more details about the story behind the photo, and also got some detail about Kristen's pregnancy.

Describing it as a "dream" the mom said she had tried just about everything to get her baby to turn into the correct position, and with no such luck was scheduled for a C-section at 39-weeks.

Here's what Kristen said about this incredible picture:

"Immediately after taking Emma from my belly, my husband had our 'fancy' camera ready to go. He got the crazy shot that I now have framed in my living room. Never have I seen a baby that was literally folded in half... I [felt] so bad that my sweet girl was stuck in what I would think of as such an uncomfortable position while growing and developing in my belly. But she is a very happy and healthy girl now!"

The mom said it took about 2 months before her baby's legs stretched out.

"Every time we changed her diaper, we would have to hold her legs down."

Emma is now two, and her mom is currently expecting a baby boy.
