Coaches tend to be cool, calm and collected (for the most part) and it's rare for anyone to describe them as mushy or soft but that's exactly how basketball coach Šarunas Jasikevicius made us feel in his now infamous response during a 2017 post-game press conference.
The Lithuanian coach was asked by a journalist how he felt about the absence of player Augusto Lima from an important semi-final game.
Augusto had missed the game in order to be present at the birth of his first child and the coach just had the best heart-melting response that many father's could relate to.

He asked the reporter, incredulously, if he had children and when he replied in the negative, the coach said that he would understand one day when he does.
After the reporter pushed and said that the semi-final was an important one, Jasikevicius replied, "When you see your first child, you will understand what the most important thing in life is."
Calling it "the height of human experience" Šarunas said that "nothing can be more majestic than the birth of a child" and that he was certain his player was "in heaven emotionally."
We're sure that journalist now thinks twice before asking any questions regarding a player's parental commitments.
Poor guy, some people honestly just don't get it!
