On Friday, 1 September, news broke that 23-time Grand Slam winner, Serena Williams, and Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, welcomed their baby girl into the world. At 6 pounds, 13 ounces, it was reported that both mother and daughter are doing well.

With congratulations pouring in from Serena’s US Open Tennis family to her friends and the Queen B herself, the internet was abuzz this weekend upon hearing the news.

Serena's baby girl is only hours old and she's already accomplished what most of us only dream of –being publicly acknowledged by Beyoncé.

Serena broke the news of her pregnancy in April, after finding out that she was pregnant before playing and winning the Australian Open in January.
Before giving birth, Serena told Vogue, “Alexis thinks we’re having a boy, but I have a strong suspicion that it’s a girl... Two weeks after we found out, I played the Australian Open. I told Alexis it has to be a girl because there I was playing in 100-degree weather, and that baby never gave me any trouble. Ride or die. Women are tough that way.”
Naturally, fans of the tennis superstar, and just about anyone with a mobile phone and social media account, praised Serena and had something hilarious to say:

Jokes aside, we are extremely happy for the engaged couple.
Serena admitted that she was nervous about parenting her first child saying that she wonders if she’ll “be good enough”, even though she knows that Alexis will “be great”. But Alexis says that’s rather funny because that’s exactly how he feels about her.
A huge congratulations to both Serena and Alexis. We can’t wait to meet your little superstar.
We’re secretly hoping to see her in skorts and sneakers, with a tennis racket in hand.
An idea for Annie Leibovitz?
