Mensa's youngest member is a toddler
Barack Obama and David Cameron have a lower IQ than this 2-year-old Mensa member.
He may look like an adorable and average 2-year-old but Adam Kirby is something special. He is currently the youngest male Mensa member and from the looks of things, he deserves the title.

Mensa, the society for the smartest 2% of people in the world, recently accepted Adam after he displayed some amazing skills for someone his age.

Not only does Adam have an IQ of 141, 10 points more than both Barack Obama and David Cameron, but he can also spell 100 different words and read fluently out loud. Dean Kirby, Adam's father, says that they have been working with Adam from a very young age to encourage reading. Their hard work paid off as Adam has been reading since he was 10 months old.

The toddler can also point out countries on a map, read Shakespeare, understand Japanese, Spanish and French and rattle of his times tables. He can even name the planets in the solar system and tell you a thing or two about the periodic table of chemical elements.

Adam joined Mensa at the age of 2 years and 5 months old. That's only 1 month older than Elise Tan-Roberts (now 6) who was previously the youngest Mensa member.

It's rumoured that Adam even potty-trained himself after reading a book on the subject...

Adam shows off his period table skills in the video below

From the video: In this clip Adam goes through some of the periodic table. We started working with him on the elements on the 17th of June 2013. The video was taken on the 25th of June 2013, just over 1 week later. He has already learnt the first 30 elements.

How do you feel about young children being part of Mensa? Is too much pressure?
