Maria Sofia Angulo Nava, is a one-and-a-half-year-old from Sonora, Mexico, and both her mom, Christina, and dad, Jonathan, are deaf.

For this reason, little Maria has started practising sign language from a very young age.

In the video, she was captured patting her dad on the hand and then brings all her finger to her mouth.

"Do you want to use sign language?" asks her amused dad in return.

Lupita Padilla, Maria's grandmother said that she didn’t necessarily say anything in particular to him because she only knows a few words in sign language.

"All she wanted was to communicate with him, like every other child. What she wants is to talk to him, even though she doesn't understand."

Lupita said that she got very emotional watching the video, and she is now trying to start a group in her town for people who want to learn sign language.

"Maria is very smart. When I watched the video, I was very moved, I cried."
