Iron Man presents kid with bionic arm
Robert Downey Jr hands over bionic arm to 7-year-old boy born with missing limb.

Most kids would be thrilled to meet their superheroes in real life, but, for seven-year-old Alex, meeting Iron Man had even more significance: actor Robert Downey Jr was there to give Alex a new bionic arm.

Alex was born with a limb that was only partially developed, but, with the aid of 3D printing technology, he was able to obtain a brand new bionic arm created by Limbitless Solutions, a group of volunteer engineers that work towards developing affordable bionic solutions. They use open-source design and 3D printers to limit the costs.

That’s a pretty cool way to use your skills!

Well done to limb creator Albert Manero and Robert Downey Jr for making a huge change in one child’s life!
