Magic painting bags
Here’s a great way for toddlers to fingerpaint without their hands or your home getting dirty

You'll need:

  • a quarter cup of liquid ironing starch
  • 3 TBS of powdered tempera paint
  • A large Ziploc plastic bag
  • Masking tape
  • Different colours of paper

Mix the starch and paint and put some into the plastic bag - squeeze out the air before zipping it shut (and add a piece of tape for good measure).

Gently distribute the paint inside the bag with your hand. Now show you child how to rub his hands over the bag, making patterns. Want to oomph things up? Place a piece of coloured paper under the bag and see how it changes the colour of the paint.
