TV highlights for kids this September

Waking up, kicking back and relaxing, and NOT having to go to school but instead watching and enjoying our favourite shows – well, growing up we couldn’t think of a better way to spend our lazy Saturdays and Sundays.

With so many great new and returning shows for the kids on TV this month, we’ve rounded up some of our favourites.

Check them out:

1. Disney Channel (DStv channel 303)

K.C. Undercover

K.C. Undercover features Shake It Up star Zendaya, as K.C. Cooper in this hilarious family series about a girl who discovers that her parents are spies and want her to follow in their footsteps.


Premieres:
4 September at 17:00, episodes will air from Monday to Thursday at 17:00 and weekends at 09:50.

Returning favourites this month include:

  • Premiere episodes of Zhuzhus, from 18 September at 14:50.
  • Premiere episodes of Lolirock, weekdays at 14:25 until 20 September.
  • Marathons of Liv and Maddie, weekends from 9th September at 12:20, before the final five episodes of the series airs in October.

2. Disney XD (DStv channel 304)

Marvel’s Spider-man

“With great power comes great responsibility,” learns Peter Parker after he’s bitten by a radioactive spider and suddenly discovers he has new powers and becomes our friendly neighbourhood Spider-man.

Premieres:
18 September at 17:40, premiere episodes will air on weekdays throughout September at 17:40.

Returning favourites this month include:

  • Premiere episodes of 11, weekdays from 4 September at 16:50
  • Season premiere episodes of Walk The Prank, Monday to Thursday from 4 September at 15:30
  • Premiere episodes of Milo Murphy’s Law, from 11 September at 18:05.

3. Disney Junior (DStv channel 309)

Returning favourites this month include:

  • Premiere episodes of Doc McStuffins, weekdays from 18 September at 15:50
  • Premiere episodes of Sofia The First, Saturdays from 30 September at 8:30
  • Premiere episodes of Miles From Tomorrow, weekdays from 4 September at 15:25

4. Cartoon Network (DStv channel 301)

OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes

OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes follows wannabe superhero K.O. and his friends, Radicles and Enid, as they embark on numerous adventures, in a series of Cartoon Network original shorts, to save the world, of course. 

Premieres:
Pre-series shorts airs from 11 September, between other programmes.

Returning favourites this month include:

  • To celebrate the new Lego Ninjago movie coming out this movies, Cartoon network will be airing episodes of Nexo Nights, weekends from 9 September at 13:25 and episodes of Ninjago, in a marathon on 16 September from 11:05.
  • Premiere episodes of Powerpuff Girls, weekdays from 4 September at 18:15.

5. Boomerang (DStv channel 302)

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Based on the animated film and it’s sequel in 2009 and 2013, Boomerang brings you Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, the series. The series will follow a teenage Flint Lockwood as he continues to try and change the world with his inventions that don’t always end in success.

Premieres:
26 August at 08:55, episodes will air from Monday to Thursday at 17:00 and weekends at 09:50.

Returning favourites this month include:

  • Premiere episodes of Pat The Dog, weekdays from 11 September at 16:00
  • Premiere episodes The New Looney Tunes, weekdays from 18 September at 18:30
