My mother was not only a mother to me but my best friend. I could talk to her about anything and always know she would give an honest answer.
My mom was the glue that kept our family together, she never forgot a birthday or any other special day and knew every member of our families telephone numbers without having to look in a telephone book! She made us feel that we are special and important and that we all have a purpose in this life. When she became ill and spent her last few years unable to get out of bed she still remained optimistic.
She never complained even when I could see that the pain was bad. She was always laughing and telling stories to the children.
My mom taught me what courage, love, dignity and caring was all about and I pray that I can leave the same legacy with my children as she did with us.
