It is with a big sigh of relief and thankfulness that I sit back in my office chair and take a sip of my first cup of coffee. You see this cup of coffee will be had uninterrupted (my colleagues know better than to disturb me and my cup of holy grail!), it will go down in silence (sure the odd telephone might ring, people around me may be talking, but they sure aren't talking to me). Nothing is expected off me during those few precious moments where I breathe in the aroma, where I can feel the caffeine absorbed in my veins to carry me through to the next cup (sure tons are expected once I've finished it - mostly even before the cup has cooled off!).
The best part of it, none of that coffee will be spilled all over me because an impatient toddler can't wait the five minutes it takes his mom to just finish her coffee and either knock the cup of warm coffee all over her or pulls on any possible piece of clothing because his mommy has to come "NOW!!!"
Aaahhhh... what special moment is that first cup of coffee on a Monday morning.
From a tired mom of two boy toddlers (age 3 and 2)
