How do parents cope?

Both me and my hubby work full time 8 to 5 jobs and we have two small kids, 2 and 4 years old.

So the one is on his terrible 2’s at the moment and the other in a mind of older child with privelages.

We did the following to organize and spent time with our kids.  We pre-cook majority of all our meals beforehand and just freeze. So every night we can just heat and eat. Works like a charm, saves time and dishes.

Friday, Saturday we do all kinds of activities together as a family. Sundays we go to Church, then we do our weekly shopping for fruit, yoghurt, etc. Then Sunday afternoon is movie time and family bonding time.

Weekdays we get home, spent half an hour quality time listening to the kids’ day at school, then it’s dinner time, where it is an endless battle because my 2 year old won’t eat (he is on a eating strike at the moment), so we all club in together to feed him, even my 4 year old son enjoys this time.

Then it’s story time. Then bath time, which usually is the best fun and bonding time.

After bath time it’s prayer, and either a chat with mom and dad or a bedtime story, like teletubbies or something.

Once the kids are in bed and asleep, it’s packing bags, cleaning up, getting clothes ready for the next day, etc. Then it’s me and my husband’s time together, and then it’s of to sleep.

(Which usually is only around 10 or 11, only to get up at 04:30 again to start the new day).
