'I'm most grateful for...'

I am most grateful for my mother being there for me as a stand in co parent when my ex decided that whatever he was doing was more important than being there for me and our new-born baby girl.
 
My mother left her comfortable home and husband in Cape Town to come and stay with me in another town and assist with my daughter from the age of 3 months till almost 1 year old on a weekly basis. As I lived in Worcester and worked full time, she would drive up with me on a Sunday evening or a Monday morning early so I could be in work by 8am and back to Cape Town on Friday after I finished work.
 
The arrangement was only for caring for my baby, yet I had not a care in the world as when I got home from work there was food ready, washing done and the house was clean and a contented baby to top it all off. The only thing she left for me to do was bath my baby girl as I had requested that so that it could be our bonding moment at the end of the day.
 
I will never be able to thank my mother for what she did for me in making not having an active partner an issue. She went shopping with me for practically everything during my pregnancy, attended Dr’s visits as well as a couple of ante natal classes. She is truly one in a million and I try and show her on a daily basis.
