My special kid

Hi I am Petro and the mom of a 12 year old boy.

He is a diabetic from the age of 5 (Insulin dependent), he was a premature baby that have only weigh 1.2 Kg and only measure 34 cm and are still the shortest in Grade 7.

From birth everybody tells me to look out if he is not behind other children of his age but the saying that small bodies holds great hearts is so true in his case.

He always look after children that is been bullied and was for weeks in a state because his best friends parents got divorced.

He is under the top ten academic in his grade, he plays for the 1st team cricket and he is one of the head boys this year(He had to stand on something to talk over the microphone on stage)

Every now and then I will received a letter from him saying thank you for everything he have like going to a nice school, have lunch every day and that I help him with school stuff.

He still sits between me and his dad on the couch, kiss us goodbye in the morning at school and love to do shopping with us.Next year is a nightmare for me , he is going to Grade 8 and the children is so big and the school is large and I start realizing my “baby” is getting big.

He is just a pleasure in life and then it it’s so good to sometimes find out there is also some 12 year old  child in him like when he teases me or his dad, the way he talks to his mates and the shyness with girls.

I love him to pieces and will walk through fire if I can protect him.
