No fear
This mom notices just how fearless life is when you're a child.
I was surprised to see my 2yr old daughter chasing after big birds, and then the neighbour’s dogs, taking care not to get her fingers near doggy’s teeth as she lifted it by the paws. Then I remembered that fear is not a part of us, but caution is, and the two are different.

I see her marvelling at things like water drops and pebbles, mud and leaves, and I remember that the world is indeed a beautiful place every day, not just on nature excursions during a guided tour.

All the times she’s had a bit of a fever or runny nose, mommy or daddy just had to cuddle her and the whimpering would stopped. For me, that must be the purest show of what love can do.

The most wonderful thing about babies is that they don’t come prescribed – they can teach you to live again.
