One special day off

Yes, one day a year [my daughter skips school] and we spend it together. I always make sure she has no tests, due assignments etc. My mom never allowed me to stay home and I would have loved a day a year. She is hardly ever ill so most years it is her only day she skips school. I have a job where I don't need to take sick days, so it works out well.
