Our family rules

I don't think of myself as a very strict parent and forcing my children to clean their plates is something I seriously object to, and I believe it could lead to obesity when older! I do however insist on good manners, saying please and thank you should come natural; such as "pass me the bread please" and not "give me the bread".

My kids know that we eat with our mouths closed and don't speak with a full mouth! We do not have our cell phones by the table and play games while we are eating! It's the little things that matter, such as giving a helping hand to clear the table, taking turns to make the coffee and wash the dishes!

We are family because we respect and care for each other, that is the golden rule!
