I so agree with your editorial today! I am also ridiculously excited about school starting tomorrow so your comments brought a smile to my face.
I currently work 3 days a week (not by choice!) and one of those is from home. So I have 3 days a week in which I can start the day by waving a fond farewell to my children. I don’t have to worry about feeding anyone but me during the day, I don’t have to look for constant sources of entertainment, I don’t have to mediate in arguments (or scream like a banshee when the mediating gets a bit out of control), my wallet will hopefully stay fuller for longer, and when I want to veg I can watch movies with age restrictions!
I am aware that there is a downside to all of this. I have to be way more diligent in getting supper ready at a decent hour so bedtimes don’t land up being too late, I have to remember to wash and iron uniforms on time, and I will soon have a massive pile of books to cover and stationery to mark. But I’ve decided the pros outweigh the cons….
Bring it on!!
