When children lie...

I think we can all agree that a parents worse nightmare is when their child lies to them, as when we start to lie, we only dig ourselves deeper into whatever problem we have; therefore we have a simple rule in our household, no lying; my children understands that if they made a mistake, did something wrong or have a problem and they come to me with the truth I will not get angry but will do my best to help them and I will go that extra mile for them, but if they lie and I find out, then I will be angry and upset and then there will be consequences; perhaps this is not so easy but we keep to the rule and our open policy of discussion and I am grateful to say that so far so good!
