Get your picnic baskets out, the whole family together and come and celebrate Universal Children’s Day at the Company’s Garden this weekend!

To commemorate Universal Children’s Day, EMBRACE will be hosting their annual Kids @ The Centre event on Saturday 18 November. The event will be held in the Company’s Garden which will be transformed into an exciting playground for kids. From face-pianting to marimbas, gumboot dancing to reading corners, this interactive space will keep the kids entertained for hours.

And did we mention there will also be acrobats and performances by Action Arte, the Red Zebra Foundation, the Jungle Theatre and many more?

Julie Mentor, Project Manager at EMBRACE says, “We want to show all children that their city, and its people, really do care about them and want to celebrate them.” The organisation has focussed on creating unified communities and bringing those communities from all over the city together this weekend. They’ll even be sending, with the help of the HCI Foundation, Golden Arrow busses out to bring children from Khayelitsha, Philippi and Heideveld to the city centre to join in on the fun at the Company’s Gardens.

Thus, keeping with their theme this year of “My city loves me”, we are sure that it will be a wonderful day that will undoubtedly bring families together from all over our beautiful city. With a promising 21 degrees, we’ll definitely be checking it out with our little and loved ones!

When: Saturday, 18 November

Where: The Company’s Garden, Cape Town

Time: 10:00 – 14:00

Price: The event and all the activities are free.
