Kids and money problems

accreditation
Having to tell your kids that there's no money in the bank for food or toys is not easy. Perhaps they're too young to understand or maybe you'd like to keep them from worrying. Either way, it's your decision to make and it depends on what's best for your family.

We asked our Facebook fans if they involved their children when there are money problems in the home. Take a look at their answers below.

Tell the kids

Yes, so they can understand when I'm broke or not. - Brenda

Yes, because that way thy understand that they can't get everything that they want. - Nonela

I tell them so they know and understand my situation. And they pray for me. I think it's the only way to teach them how to be responsible adults. - Dolly

My child always knows what's going on. She understands that if she wants something and I say no, there is no money. She is only 4, so we want to always be honest with her and not pretend all is well when it's not. - Tanya

Yes, to a certain extent. They need to learn to be grateful for the little they have before they can have more. - Charlotte

We then use these opportunities as a platform to teach and encourage them to save. - Siboniso
