"All birth mothers: We salute you"
A touching letter from adoptive parents to a birth mother.

Dearest Birth Mother,

Many days in the last 3 years we had to listen to people’s opinions about a girl they have never met but yet have given up “this” beautiful child, our beautiful child.

Many times we were asked the questions: Was she too young? Was she one of “those” girls? How could she have given up a child? Didn’t she care? Was she a drug abuser? Did you know her? She must be self-centred? How does one just do that?

To be honest the questions and accusations are so many, but it’s not the reason for this letter.

The reason for this letter is to thank you for this wonderful gift you have given us. To thank you for giving us the opportunity to be parents. Thank you for your selfless action. For being brave giving up this precious child for adoption, so we could have a happily ever after.  Thank you that I can write this letter to you and tell you no matter what your reasons were, no matter what kind of a person you are of was at that time, no matter what people might think, we salute you.

I believe that everything in live no matter how hard, sad or difficult happens for the greater of good, and with no doubt in my mind this incident happened for “greatest” of good.

People will never change, they will judge, they might accuse and they will definitely form their own opinion, but to us you will be an Angel that crossed our lives to calm a longing, to fill an emptiness that was there long before we met you, to bring us joys of the first tooth, first step and first birthday, first school day, first heart ache, and many memories to follow.

Finishing off this letter by saying: “Dearest Birth Mother – We salute you!”

Thankful always and forever!
