No matter which way you look at it, becoming a father is a life-changing experience.

And this Father's Day, dads around the world will get a chance to be spoiled, appreciated, and shown just how much they mean to their kids.

Apart from displays of affection and love, it's also a great time for fathers to reflect on just how much they've changed since taking on the role.

We contacted a few famous dads who took some time out of their busy schedules to tell us how their lives have changed since becoming a dad and how they plan on spending the day with their families.

Kurt Darren, award-winning singer, songwriter and television presenter

"Fatherhood has erased any traces of selfishness that might have existed in my being. All I have now is total awareness and love for these amazing beings that have come into my life, and I appreciate every single second I get to spend with them. My beautiful wife, Dunay, has kept Father’s Day itself a secret, but wherever I find myself, as long as I’m spending quality time with them, then I’ll be happy," Kurt told Parent24.

Mduduzi Mabaso, award-winning actor

"Wow... Fatherhood is a journey that I could have never imagined...

"It's fulfilling, challenging and absolutely amazing. This is one of those experiences that you are not prepared for but God entrusts you with and one can only pray to a higher power to guide you through every phase of your children's lives.

"I wouldn't trade it for anything!

"I'm gonna be chilling with them this Sunday."

Joey Rasdien, comedian, writer and actor

"How has fatherhood changed [my] life? For the better. I don’t know what I would have done with my days if I didn’t have the kids. They keep you busy.

"I have nothing planned [for Sunday]. Probably just resting after the end of Ramadan."

Jak de Priester, singer-songwriter, actor and artist

"Fatherhood has changed my life completely...everything is changed. Where I live...the house I live in...even the town we live in currently is based on choices cause of the kids...but besides that...to be a father drives you to try and be a good person and to be the best in what you do.... like everybody else I want my kids to be proud of what I do in this lifetime. And I also try to keep my language clean.

"This Sunday is a surprise!!!! To me... I know the kids and mom are making plans but I have no idea what!!!"

Wayne Parnell, professional cricketer

“Naturally there were a few nerves…. because we are solely responsible for this new life, but I’m super happy about this having this little guy in my life.  He is so cool, and I can’t wait for him to be older so that I can play sport with him and take him on walks.”

“I’m pretty sure [for Father's Day] we will just have a meal together as a family, and reflect on the amazing path we are on.”

Heinz Winckler, singer, songwriter and actor

"Fatherhood has changed my life mainly in the sense that I have gained a much deeper understanding for the Father heart of God toward me as His child. When you experience the love for a baby that can’t do or say anything to love you back, but you love them unconditionally with all your heart, you get some insight into the love God has for each one of us.

"When you discipline your child or warn him about something that can put his life in danger, even though he doesn’t understand why and even gets upset with you for it, but you see the bigger picture, you get insight into what it means to trust God even when things don’t make sense.

"My wife and I are hosting a marriage enrichment course this weekend... and will also be ministering [on] Sunday morning. Afterward, we will have a lunch with our family to celebrate Father's Day."

Ewan Strydom, TV presenter and model

A post shared by Ewan (@ewan_strydom) on

"Being a father has opened my eyes to a brand-new world, a world that you tend to forget about when you grow up, a world full of colour and magic and playfulness. It has given me a new way to look at my surroundings and be much more appreciative for what I have in my life. It makes me so proud to say that I am a Dad to two incredible boys who have made me a better and stronger man, far beyond I ever imagined myself being.

"This Fathers Day weekend I will not only take time out to spend quality time with my boys and beautiful wife, but I am also blessed to be spending it with my mom and dad who are the biggest role models in my life. We will all be heading to a beautiful cottage in the Ceres Mountains for some R&R."
