The Duchess of Cambridge has taken to social media in support of her Hold Still initiative, leaving encouraging comments on participators' posts.

Launched this past May, the initiative has called on those living in the UK to submit images of their everyday lives during the pandemic.

"Photographs reflecting resilience, bravery, kindness - all those things that people are experiencing," the Duchess said in a statement.

The Duchess, who is an avid amateur photographer herself, took to the official Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Instagram page to showcase some of the shortlisted images in a video

In addition to her video shout out, she also left thank you messages on the posts of those who submitted an entry.

"Thank you so much for taking part in the Hold Still project. I get so much joy from being outside and gardening too,"  she wrote to one participant.

On another post, she said, "My children will very much relate to this. Thank you for taking part and sharing your story!"

A total of 100 portraits have been shortlisted and will soon be displayed virtually in August.
