WATCH | Russian influencer celebrates pregnancy with her stepson

Love is in the air for Russian Instagram influencer Marina Balmasheva and her stepson Vladimir 'Voya' Shavyrin.

The 35-year-old Balmasheva first gained fame on the platform when she shared her 50 kg weight loss journey but it's been her relationship with her 20-year-old stepson that's captured the internet. 

Marina first met Voya when he was seven-years-old, while she was married to his father Alexey Shavyrin, and the two began their relationship around the time Marina and Alexey got divorced. 

The pair are now married and expecting their first child. 

Despite assumptions, Marina says she did not raise Voya and had not spent much time with him during his childhood. 

Marina shared in an Instagram post (translated from Russian), "Vova and I met when he was seven. He was always smiling and funny. We did not talk for long, my mother moved with them to the Urals...Then we saw each other three times, until his 16th birthday."

After posting a side by side image of herself and her former stepson 15 years ago with a current picture of the pair today, Marina received a lot of backlash. 

Some of her followers asked how she could sleep with a child she practically raised.

But Marina says she does not care about the negativity she receives and continues to post about her life. 

In an Instagram post, Marina shared a cute video revealing that she was expecting a baby girl. 

The Instagram post  was accompanied by the caption: "You guessed it? (Sweet smile emoji). I accept congratulations and your hearts. Thanks to everyone who was worried" she said in the post translated from Russia.

Marina cannot wait to hold her baby in her arms.
