"I see the world through his eyes": spina bifida

accreditation

My name is Sune and I am married. I was 21 when I found out I was pregnant with a beautiful baby boy.

As time past through my pregnancy we had this wonderful future for him already planned, I wanted him to play rugby and do everything in life. We never expected that he had spina bifida until his birth on the 10 July 2008.

It was a difficult time for me and my husband to understand what was wrong. I just held him for a few seconds, everything was to much at the moment as my mind kept asking WHY ME WHY ME !!! What did I do wrong?

My boy (Ricardo) went for an operation to close his back and a week after that for the shunt to drain the moisture from his brain to his stomach. He is paralysed from his middle waist down to his legs he and is in a wheel chair. He changed my life. I see the world as a different place, I see the world through he's eyes the beauty that our beloved God gave us.
