Pregnancy is undeniably one of the most beautiful experiences a woman can go through, but all the other external pressures can be quite daunting for anyone to handle.

Abomama actress, Nokuthula Mavuso (formerly Ledwaba) recently tweeted how annoying societal expectations are to women who have just given birth.

“Society can be really weird. Expecting moms to 'bounce' back shortly after giving birth? Anihlanyi perhaps?  The body goes through so much before, during and after pregnancy. Don't feel pressured to 'bounce' back. They are the crazy ones, mommy,” she wrote.

Nokuthula continued to narrate a rather invasive interaction she had with someone recently:

“Someone asked if I'll be using a waist trainer for my postpartum belly. FFS my child is barely a week old. Oviaas ke mmoditse tse a dijileng maloba. The audacity of some people.”

One tweep even gave this a name – the “yummy mummy syndrome”
