Jessica Alba has made her commitment to wellness a family affair.
The actress and mom of three opened up about her decision to go to therapy with her 10-year-old daughter at Her Campus Media’s annual Her Conference in Boston on Saturday.
Jessica explained that she chose to see a therapist with Honor, in order to “learn to be a better mother to her and communicate better with her".
Jessica was motivated to make mental health awareness part of Honor’s upbringing because the subject was neglected by her strict Catholic family growing up.
The mom of three said, “Some people think, like in my family, you talk to a priest and that’s it."

She continued “I didn’t grow up in an environment where you talked about this stuff, and it was just like, Shut it down and keep it moving…I find a lot of inspiration just in talking to my kids.”
Jessica’s comments emphasise the value of having important conversations with children.
Family therapy can be a very valuable tool for building better communication, promoting conflict resolution and coping with mental health issues.
