“Mom, can you get me a snack?”
“Can you please get my remote control car from the shelf?”
“Mom, can you help me find my iPad?”
In some households, it’s always mom this and mom that – sometimes it feels like mom’s the only one in the house, to be honest, even though there’s a dad-shaped potato perched on the couch in front of the TV.
Moms, who of you are in the same WhatsApp group here?
Wife, mother and mommy-blogger of That’s Inappropriate, Meredith Masony, seems to be.
The hilarious mother of three recently posted a video after figuring out exactly why she’s always the one the kids come to for every little thing. Turns out, to avoid moving his tooshie, dad’s casually been passing on the responsibility with a very brave, “Go ask your mother.”
Of course, we know it’s not like this in all households. In recent years, hundreds of thousands of dads have picked up the slack and stayed home with the kids, while mom’s been on that 9 to 5 grind. And we absolutely love the switch-up!
So we wonder, dads, does the “Go ask your mother” deflection still work? Or does that belong to the previous century?
Have the roles been reversed in your household, moms? Or are you, at the very least, sharing the load?
