Breastfeeding in public has always been something that people frown upon. Some even go to the extremes of saying that it is public indecency!

Linda Mtoba seems to disagree with this negative thinking and we agree with her.

"I really don’t give much thought to feeding my daughter in public, she needs to eat so I feed her," she recently shared with a glam pic on Instagram.

"I thought maybe I’d be anxious about it, but speaking to other mommies truly gave me the confidence I needed to do it" she admitted.

No shame

In response to one comment, Linda said "If it offends you, look away."

"Mommies, it’s ok to breastfeed our babies in public and not feel any shame for it," she shared, no doubt encouraging a whole new generation of women to proudly feed their babies where and when they need to.

This is sadly still an ongoing debate, but most people agree with Linda that it shouldn't be a big deal that women breastfeed in public.

Celeb support

Luckily many celebrity moms promote breastfeeding, Rachel Kolisi included.

In 2018, during the World Breastfeeding Week (1 August - 7 August), she posted a picture of herself breastfeeding her youngest baby.

Another proud mom is Ntando Duma:

Mom Zolani Mahola posted "Because our mothers did it anywhere and everywhere when we were hungry":

Why the stigma?

Some say it's because society has sexualised everything and because of that, when a woman breastfeeds in public, it is seen as indecent.

But honestly, why anyone would oppose such a natural thing?
