Eight weeks ago, four-year-old Paige started getting headaches that left her in tears. A visit to the doctor revealed that she has a brain tumour the size of a lemon.

Doctors removed it surgically but unfortunately it grew back and last week her parents were told she had only one to two weeks to live.

With Paige given just days to live, her big dream of seeing her parents say “I do” was shattered.

According to Daily Mail, Paige would proudly tell everyone she met that she was going to be their flower girl.

Her aunt Innez Stonnell decided to make Paige’s greatest wish come true by planning a beautiful wedding at her hospital.

It was a magical night for the whole family, who according to The Daily Telegraph, had been living in a nightmare for the past eight weeks.

“We were planning this big wedding next year that I thought would be perfect but this was beyond perfect,” Piage’s mother, Tania Miller, told The Daily Telegraph.

Tania said although this wasn’t how she and husband Jacob Skarratts had planned for things to go, she’s happy they made their little girl’s dream come true within 24 hours.

“Every day since the wedding, we wake up and are thankful for having it. Every hour that passes we’re grateful for having more time with her.

“She’s still fighting. She’s our Wonder Woman,” Tania told The Daily Telegraph.

According to Gold Coast Bulletin, Paige was a happy child before she started having headaches and was diagnosed with the tumour.

Hearing later that it was incurable, her parents were devastated. After only being on chemotherapy for a day, Paige developed an adverse reaction to it which led doctors to tell the parents that she would not live long.

“The doctors let them know there was nothing else they could do,” Innez Stonnell, Jacob’s sister, told Gold Coast Bulletin.

“They were told she only had a week or two. They were soon crying with Mum and me, and that’s when they said ‘We want to get married before it happens’.”

And 24 hours after that conversation, Paige’s parents got married at the hospital with their baby girl as their flower girl.

“We pulled the wedding together for $1 000 [R13 500] and it was the most magical night ever,” Innez told The Daily Telegraph.

Paige and Innez’s two-year-old daughter, Imogen, were wheeled down the aisle by a nurse dressed as Superman.

“Paige was beautiful, just absolutely stunning. She was the star of the show. This has reaffirmed our bond and what we’re about as a family – and Paige did that.

“From the day we had her, she has made us who we are today.”
