Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes’ kids speak Spanglish!
Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes’s daughters, Esmeralda, 4, and Amada, 3, have started speaking Spanglish, and it’s the cutest thing!
“I’m Cuban,” explains Eva, “And we’re trying to teach the kids Spanish. It’s harder than I thought because I speak Spanglish and that’s what they’re picking up.”
She says although it’s not ideal for them to be merging the two languages, it’s oh-so adorable.
“Our little girl will be like, ‘Mommy, my boca (mouth) hurts because I think something got stuck in my diente (tooth),” she gushes on The Talk, before opening up about changing her mind about wanting to have kids.
“You said you weren’t even sure you wanted to have kids. So what changed?”
Her answer was simple and sweet: “Ryan Gosling.”
The couple have been together since 2011 and welcomed their first child in 2014. And we’re sure they’ve been doing a fantastic job of raising their girls.
Besides, we’ve written before of the endless benefits of raising multilingual kids that impacts so much more than just their communication skills.
We say let them speak Spanglish!
In South Africa we have 11 official beautiful languages. Why not encourage a little Xhulu and Zulukaans?
