The power of storytelling.
The power of storytelling.

Save the Children South Africa (SCSA) in collaboration with a cohort of local businesses, publishers, NGOs and celebs have launched the #SaveWithStoriesSA campaign.

The initiative is aimed at raising funds for children affected by Covid-19, particularly those who attend school not just to learn, but to be fed.

The campaign will also provide families with educational and entertaining content, and a positive distraction to the disruption that the Covid-19 pandemic is causing while raising awareness.

The power of this social media campaign is storytelling

Initially launched in America by Save the Children US Trustee Jennifer Garner, #SavewithStoriesSA will now see much-loved SA celebrities read stories aloud to all children across the country.

Local celebs who have shown interest in participating in include Ayanda Boroto, Gareth Cliff, Katlego Danke, Minnie Dlamini, Stacey Fru, Lethabo Mathatho,Tsholofelo Matshaba, Nomzamo Mbatha, Khotso Mokoena, Tobias and Vibeke Rehfeld and Emma Wade-Smith.

Donations received through this appeal will help SCSA make sure that vulnerable children have the support they need.

Gather the family and watch children’s stories on Instagram and Facebook (using the handle @SavetheChildrenSouthAfrica) read by your favourite celebrity from 2-30 April 2020.
