Three years ago actress Terry Pheto became an ambassador for NGO Save the Children as she believes children who have a healthy and nurtured childhood ultimately become adults who contribute positively to society.

“I truly believe it’s easier to build a child than to fix a broken man or woman and that is why I decided to be part of Save the Children,” she says.

As an ambassador, Terry has been given the opportunity to advocate children’s rights. “I am passionate about being a voice for children on the African continent and to be able to work with young kids.”

Ever passionate about the development of children, Terry and actress Mampho Brescia recently launched Let’s Learn Toys – an online toy store for educational toys that help kids.

Terry and a-capella group The Soil, actress Zikhona Sodlaka, Bo from boy band Denim, Top Billing's Janez Vermeiren and Afro Tenors member Given Mabena will be participating in a gala dinner to help raise funds for Save the Children at the Maslow Hotel in Johannesburg on Wednesday 29 November 2017.

“This night of glitz and glam will be for a good cause. There will be live performances and people will get to look good and save a child’s life at the same time,” she says.

Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase artwork.
