The simple reason Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson celebrates every moment with his girls

In April, Dwayne Johnson welcomed his second child with Lauren Hashian, one Tiana Gia. And the doting dad is celebrating even the littlest of milestones, including Tiana’s 6-month birthday.

Under a video he posted on Facebook of him singing to his little girl, he wrote, “Happy 6 month birthday to our lil’ disruptor, Tianan Gia. We’re a family of non-traditionalists so we celebrate everything.”

But we have a feeling his almost 3-year-old daughter, Jasmine, may also have something to do with him celebrating every moment with his girls.

He recently posted a photo on Instagram holding his not-so-little one in his arms, explaining why it’s so very important to give your kids your time and energy, even when you feel you don’t really have all that much left to give.

“Working late and had only 3 hours sleep when this tornado busts in our bedroom, jumps on me and pleads with me to get up and take her to my closet (she keeps toys in my closet) to play. We get there and then – surprise – she refuses to play and just wants me to hold her while she makes fart noises.”

This probably isn’t the first time Jasmine demanded daddy’s attention.

‘The Rock’ has posted images before of Jasmine hanging out with him while he trains.

And as he casually breaks probably every male stereotype, he’s also Instagrammed an image of Jasmine painting his nails.

“Me: Come here baby, give daddy a kiss, I gotta go to work.

Jazzy: But daddy you need your nails painted.

Me: Sorry baby, daddy’s gotta go to work.

Jazzy: No daddy you really need your nails painted – as she looks up at me with her mama’s gorgeous blue eyes.

Me: Yes, you’re absolutely right – daddy needs his nails painted.

He explains why he makes sure he cherishes even the most mundane of things – even the fart noises! – even when he’s half way out the door or completely and utterly exhausted.

“Tired as all hell, but thought ehh, there’s gonna come a time, years from now when jumping in my arms is the last thing she wants to do and ain’t gonna be cool anymore – so I’ll always take these moments while I can.”

And it's true, isn't it? One moment they're tugging at your leg, wanting constant love, affection and attention, and the next they're half way out the door. As cliché as it may seem, before you know it they'll be all grown up and you'll long for the moments you just didn't have time the time and energy to think maybe, just maybe, they were more – even the most – important.

So if there's anything you take from today, let it be this message from The Rock: Cherish even the smallest of moments, the littlest of milestones, the 6-month birthdays.

And in unrelated news, his conclusion to his post is totally worth mentioning: “Somewhere @kevinhart4real (Kevin Hart) is crying and wishes he was her.”

Hahaha... Us too.
