Lounge suite for a baby
My conception was not so much planned as bought.

The Addinalls are a reasonably sized family of 5. Freddy and Charmaine make up the parental side of things. Then there's my big brother Shane (33), my big sister Kim (30) and then there's me at the tender age of 20.
Yes. I am the laat lammetjie.
I was never supposed to be you see. No, I was not an 'oopsie'. Believe it or not, I was the only one planned. Although many years after my siblings. The baby-making factory was supposed to close after 2 sprogs, but thanks to my father, it was not meant to be.
Mom had the rather unrealistic plan of having 4 boys, but when things went a little pear shaped with the arrival of my sister, she decided that 2 was enough.
For a while Dad seems to agree that 2 kiddies are enough until out of the blue he decided that he needed another bundle of joy in his life.
Mom whole heartedly disagreed. Shane was already 12 years old for goodness sake! Plus, both kids were steady on their way towards high school already! And NOW Dad wants more?!
The ups and downs, backwards and forwards continued for a while until one day Dad got lucky and caught Mom in a bargaining mood.
The terms and conditions were set. A brand new lounge suite with matching curtains, a matching coffee table, flower pot, paintings for the walls (etc etc) and it's settled. Dad would have his laat lammetjie!
A mere 9 months later and little Robi is welcomed into the world.
Mom claims that all of things were agreed on after she said yes to having me, yet stories from Dad claim otherwise!
So perhaps I should say thanks Dad, because I'm not sure I'd be here if it weren't for you. Oh and thanks to Mom too. If you weren't easily bribed, things would've gotten interesting!
