Our users share their opinions and stories in the hopes that you'll consider kicking that habit now before you get that positive pregnancy test.

'I struggled for 6 months to stop smoking. Now I'm on day 13 without a smoke and feel 100% better. No more stress about smoking and being pregnant!' - Isabel vd M.

'I am VERY much against it! I stopped smoking 1 month before I fell pregnant. And after 1 year and nine months, I started again 1 month ago in a moment of weakness. I am breastfeeding and I feel SO guilty everytime I light one. Wish I never started again!' - Sian O.

'I am a non-smoker and stayed away from smokers when I was pregnant. My opinion is that woman who smoke should make a decision: Either their pleasure (that means giving it up totally) or the health of their baby, when they find out they are pregnant.' - Sagree M.

'I'm also against it. Why would any loving mother intentionally want to harm or put their child at risk (especially before they are even born)? It's not fair on the baby!' - Brigitta E.

'I gave up while pregnant but stupidly starting again afterwards. I know that my mother continued to smoke with me and my sisters and although we are all fine. I can't imagine how she would feel if something had happened to one of us. My step-sister also smokes (and I mean chain smokes) and smoked with her two children and the one she is pregnant with now. She told me that it is a serious craving with her, she has one cigarette and feels like she hasn't had one, so has another.' - Karen H.

'I quit when I found out I was preggies - protecting my unborn child was more important to me than getting a nicotine fix.' - Ayesha Y.
