After 147 matric papers were set, 624 733 learners had their last dance before gearing up to write the 2018 NSC exams over a tumultuous and tense 6-week period. But it seems the late nights – the all-nighters – totally paid off. Class of 2018, you did it!
Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga announced last week that the national pass rate for the 2018 NSC exams stands at 78.2% – 3.1% up from the previous year’s 75.1%.
Four provinces achieved above 80%, while significantly, the Eastern Cape improved their results by 5.6% and Mpumalanga by 4.1%. Gauteng also had a notable improvement of 2.8% while also having the most schools in the province with a 100% pass rate.

Congratulations to the class of 2018 and a well deserved round of applause for the learners, and teachers, of the 102 schools listed below, that manged to achieve an incredible 100% pass rate.
