Unleash creativity in your home with these simple craft and decorating ideas for kids and adults alike.

Funny bunny finger puppet

A quick and cute idea for hours of fun with the little ones.

What you need

  • Pipe cleaners in various colours
  • Mini pompoms or cotton balls
  • Stick-on googly eyes (from craft or hobby shops)
  • Craft glue

1 Wrap one pipe cleaner around your finger tightly, ensuring that you have a small coil at the top.

2 Put a blob of glue on the pompom or cotton ball and stick it to the top of the pipe cleaner coil to create a little head.

3 Glue the googly eyes to the head.

4 Cut two smaller pieces of pipe cleaner, fold in half to make ears for your bunny and glue to the top of the finger puppet’s head. You can also get creative by changing the ear shape to create another animal such as a cat.

Easy-peasy felt Easter eggs

Instead of the usual idea of decorating hardboiled eggs, why not try this fun activity? It keeps kids busy for ages once the materials are set out.

What you need

  • Felt in various colours
  • Permanent marker
  • Ribbon, washi tape, buttons, rhinestones or glitter glue for decorating
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue

1 Use the permanent marker to trace egg shapes on the felt and cut them out.

2 Now the fun begins – get the kids to decorate the eggs using the embellishments.

3 If you’re having Easter lunch at home, another great idea is to use glitter glue to write guests’ names on he eggs as place cards – an easy table setting idea!

Sweet sock bunnies

Here’s a cute little homemade toy that can be added to an Easter basket for kids.

What you need

  • Small socks
  • Felt-tip pens
  • Large pompoms
  • Stick-on googly eyes
  • Ribbon
  • Clear rubber bands
  • Rice

Craft glue

1 Fill each sock with about a cup of rice, depending on the size. Add two clear rubber bands to create the head – one for the neck and one on top of the head.

2 Draw a face for your bunny using felt-tip pens.

3 Tie a ribbon around the bunny’s neck and make a bow.

4 Stick a pompom at the back to create a fluffy tail.

5 Cut the top of the sock in half lengthways to create ears out of the rest of the sock and snip the corners to make the ears slightly rounded.
